7th ANNUAL METROPOLITAN FASHION WEEK HOLLYWOOD KICK OFFS WITH RUNWAY SHOW AND AWARDS GALA

Metropolitan Fashion Week kicks off its annual festivities with a fashion show featuring unique costumes and haute couture gowns and industry fashion awards, September 26 – October 5, 2019 at Los Angeles City Hall and various locations throughout Los Angeles. MetroFW will be hosted and produced by Eduardo Khawam, fashion expert, producer and TV personality for Telemundo and Univision.

Metropolitan Fashion Week Los Angeles festivities begin with the Opening Night & Fashion Design Contest at The Original Farmers Market Los Angeles on Thursday, September 26, hosted by Sam Rubin, entertainment reporter for the KTLA Morning News. Inspired by Project Runway, Designers will showcase one Greek Mythology Inspired Masterpiece, couture gown or costume. The winner will have the opportunity to participate in the Metropolitan Fashion Week Closing Gala & Fashion Awards on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Los Angeles City Hall.

Metropolitan Fashion Week Closing Gala & Fashion Awards, will take place Saturday, October 5, 2019, at The Iconic Los Angeles City Hall and hosted by Eduardo Khawam, fashion expert, producer and television personality for Telemundo and KTLA, and Christine Devine, six-time Emmy® Award winning television news anchor for KTTV’s Fox 11 News. The festivities will open with a special dance number featuring Emmy nominated choreographer Dmitry Chaplin.

The Closing Gala & Fashion Awards will recognize outstanding contributions in costume design, fashion and more. The award categories include Costume Designer of the Year (Motion Pictures), Costume Designer of the Year (TV), Fashion Designer of the Year; Outstanding Ensemble for Make-Up Artist and Hair Stylists – TV or Motion Picture and the Metropolitan Fashion Excellence Award. In addition to the Awards ceremony the evening will include a one-of-a-kind fashion and costume show featuring masterpieces inspired by Greek Mythology and designed by over 30 National and International Fashion Designers.

Metropolitan Fashion Week has raised over $13 million for charity by supporting a special charity each year. This year’s fashion week supports Project Imagination. Metropolitan Fashion Week will donate a Christmas Tree/Holiday Kit to selected families in need throughout the Los Angeles area.
