Fashion designer Mali Cunningham has a stellar reputation within the fashion industry. Her label Sultry Limb which she created and runs is about to release it’s December collection. We caught up with the star designer in Los Angeles to learn more from this young star.

 Where are you from?
I was born and raised in the inner city of Baltimore, MD and raised by my aunt. who owns a hair shop, where I spent long hours after school and on weekends admiring women’s fashion. 

How did Sultry Limb come about  I’ve always loved lingerie, primarily for its lace and sheer fabrics. In Highschool, I was attracted to the lingerie lines that carried outer lounge wear and I from that I conjured up the thought of lingerie being exposed as outer garments. 

What is your inspiration in the designs you have? First the colors are chosen based on the season. For Fall we tend to go with a lot of neutral earthy colors and summer colors are bright. As for the designs, we aim to keep them timeless and classic, being as though we want women to be able to transcend from the boudoir to a night on the town with the same garment.

Whats next for you? e.g designs, new clothing etcOur Fall collection is set to be released within the next 2 weeks but more than anything we are excited to announce our red collection for Christmas, New Years’ and Valentine’s Day.
